Easy Fruit Dip- What is Fruit Dip?

Fruit dip is exactly what it’s name says.. It is a dip that you dip fruit in! We don’t make fruit dip on a regular basis but tend to make it for parties or when we are headed to a friend’s home for dinner. It is just something a little special and fancy!

There are many variations, combinations and flavors of fruit dip. This Cheesecake Fruit Dip is killer! Some are made with cool whip, others with cream cheese or marshmallow cream. You really can’t go wrong with fruit dip, it is just plain heavenly!

What ingredients are in this Fruit Dip?

This fruit dip only consists of 3 ingredients!! Cream Cheese, Brown Sugar and vanilla.

How to make this Easy Fruit Dip

Making this fruit dip couldn’t be easier! Use either your stand mixer or electric hand mixer and combine all of the ingredients until smooth. The brown sugar will cut into the cream cheese and eventually dissolve. Mix until the dip is creamy and no longer grainy.

It is easiest if you start with room temperature cream cheese, but this will still work with cold cream cheese if using your stand mixer.

Does Fruit Dip Need to be Refrigerated?

It really depends on the ingredients in the fruit dip, but this particular fruit dip does need to be kept in the fridge because of the cream cheese.

How long is Fruit Dip good for while sitting out?

For this particular recipe, it is okay sitting out of the fridge for about an hour. Longer than that, I would toss it to be safe.

Can I make this Fruit Dip ahead? How long does it stay good for?

Yes! This fruit dip is perfect to make ahead of time! Even though it only takes a few minutes to put together, just having one less thing to do the day of an event takes away so much stress! This fruit dip will stay good in the fridge for up to 4 days. (warning.. it won’t last that long!)

What is the best fruit for Fruit Dip?

The best fruits are sturdy ones! Here is a list of fruits that I especially like with this fruit dip:

  • apples
  • strawberries
  • spread on bananas
  • raspberries
  • blackberries
  • kiwi

Sooo quick and easy and YUMMY! The only addition that I made was stirring in vanilla yogurt to make it easier for dipping fruits. Thanks for sharing , Karli
