Air Fryer Garlic Bread Recipe

We’ve all been there – it’s the end of a busy day and you’re serving pasta again. You might be feeling guilty because it’s boring (you shouldn’t, but I know how it goes). This air fryer garlic bread is your quick and delicious solution to making your dinner more fun, filling, and rounded out.

Making garlic bread in the air fryer is a serious game changer. It comes out flavorful and perfectly toasted every. single. time. It is seasoned to perfection and slightly creamy without compromising it’s warm, crisp edges. Plus, you don’t have to heat up your house with the oven! Your air fryer is set to a timer so it won’t burn your bread, which means you never have to worry about getting distracted and letting it burn to a blackened crisp under your oven’s broiler again. And yes, I am speaking from personal experience.

Ingredients for Garlic Bread (Air Fryer Version)

  • French bread, cut lengthwise – You can make this on regular bread, it just won’t need to cook as long
  • Cream cheese, softened – Okay, it sounds weird. But I promise you don’t taste the cream cheese. I SWEAR. My cream cheese hating son loved this bread and claimed it to be ‘the best garlic bread I have ever had in my entire life’ and his eyes almost popped out of his head when I told him there was cream cheese in it. TRUST me on the cream cheese.
  • Salted butter, softened
  • Garlic powder – This is just garlic powder, not garlic salt. If using garlic salt, omit the salt!!!
  • Parsley – Dried.
  • Salt
  • Oregano – Dried.

How to Make Garlic Bread in Air Fryer

  1. In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, butter, garlic powder, parsley, salt and oregano until smooth.
  2. Cut your french bread in half, lengthwise.
  3. Spread your mixture generously onto each side of your French bread. Cut the length of the French bread in half so it will fit in your air fryer.
  4. Place the bread into the air fryer, spread side up.
  5. Cook at 400° for 6-8 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on the top.
  6. Repeat until all of the bread has cooked.
  7. Enjoy!

What should I serve with garlic bread in the air fryer?

I personally have not met a meal that wasn’t enhanced by garlic bread! I love serving this with soups (like my Zuppa Toscana), all manner of pastas (especially my easy chicken spaghetti, chicken alfredo, or bolognese sauce), lasagna, ziti, pizza – you get the drift.

How should I store this?

I would recommend storing the mixture in the fridge and apply it to the bread when you’re ready to serve – this garlic bread is insane when it’s fresh!

But if you have leftovers, you can store them in a resealable bag in the fridge for a day or two.

We made this, and have to agree, best garlic bread ever! We used the oven and pre toasted a bit, and then put the mix on and put it under the broiler…. Freaking fantastic.

I also made some but used a tablespoon of granular sugar instead of the spices and whipped it till the sugar incorporated. We put it on pumpkin and banana bread….. Amazing.

This makes a spread that is buttery but maintains a lovely creamy feeling.

    Thank you for the recipe!
