The BEST Guacamole Recipe
My cute baby sister got married a few years ago and without fail, almost every family get together we have her husband brings his famous Guacamole. He offered to make it once and now it is requested & expected. 😉My grandma honestly can not get enough of the stuff!
I have to be honest here though, I had always been leery of anything avocado. I know, I know. I’m a food blogger, I’m supposed to love all food! You probably would be surprised to know, I am an extremely picky eater! (You will likely never find a seafood recipe on my site.. what can I say.. seafood kind of freaks me out!)
Avocados were one of those things for years that I wouldn’t touch. 1. They are green (my younger self just couldn’t.) 2. the texture.. mushy, slimy. Really I had absolutely no desire.
Enter Braxton’s Guacamole Recipe. I can definitely say that I am fan of Guac. This stuff is FANTASTIC! This batch right here in the pictures? Pretty sure I ate half of the guacamole just while taking photos. And then I ate it again for dinner. I literally could not stop!
It truly is the Best Guacamole Recipe around!
How to make the Best Guacamole Recipe
First, we will make a little Pico de Gallo. Pico consists of diced tomatoes, onions, cilantro, jalapeño and lime juice. Mix them all up in a bowl and let those flavors marry and combine while we work with our avocados.
WARNING: may I suggest wearing swim goggles while cutting the onion.. I am currently out of contacts and I’ve never cut an onion without them before. I swear contact lenses protect your eyeballs.. HOLY HANNAH onions burn your eyes so bad! 😂
Next, we will dice up 6 avocados. The easiest way to do this is by cutting the avocado in half, removing the pit and then slicing the avocado both directions without going through the skin. (As shown below.)
Use a spoon to scoop out the avocado. As Braxton says, ‘Just do this. It will make your life so much easier’.
Now the secret ingredients.. 😉 In with the avocados go seasoned salt (Lawry’s is the best!), garlic powder and more lime juice!
Pro tip: use your tongs to help squeeze those limes easily!
Use a fork and mash those avocados. I prefer my guacamole a little chunkier, but if you prefer your’s more smooth, go for it! Mash those avocados to your heart’s content. 😉
Now, remember that pico from earlier?? Gently fold the pico into the mashed avocados to finish of the BEST Guacamole of your life!
Serve immediately. Will keep in the fridge for about 24 hours. Don’t throw those avocado pits away!! Toss them on top of the guacamole while storing to help keep it fresh. Another tip is to seal the guacamole with plastic wrap, but press the plastic wrap right onto the top of guacamole, eliminating air coming in contact with the guac.

Your recipe is how my son makes guac. I grew up (in Southern California) with avocado, tomato, onion and pepperoncinis all mixed together with a bit of the pepperoncinis juice and salt and pepper. Try that one for a change of pace.

I’ll have to give that a try! Thanks!

Hi Linda- there is a print button on the recipe card that makes it easy to do this. Let me know if you can’t find it!

I learned to chop my onions without cutting into the root end. Haven’t shed a tear since. This recipe is awesome. I make it all the time. Sometimes I want salsa fresca and sometimes I want guac. Why would I not have both? Together! Thanks for your bravery. I know its hard to try new things sometimes. I’m glad you dove right in!
