How to store Edible Sugar Cookie Dough

As surprising as it may sound, you might not finish all of this edible sugar cookie dough in one sitting. While it is addictingly delicious, it’s also really filling. By saving a little of the sugar cookie dough for later, you can enjoy it even longer.

You can take your uneaten sugar cookie dough and place it in your fridge (in a sealed container) for up to 5 days. You can also portion it out into small bite-sized pieces and place it in the freezer for a more extended storage solution.

If you choose to store it in the freezer, consider placing the dough bites on a cookie sheet and freezing them for about 10 minutes before bagging them up. This will help to prevent them from sticking together, making it much more convenient when you want to grab a bite to eat.

When I first saw this recipe I jumped to make it because, duh, its cookie dough am I right? Then, I read some of the comments and they weren’t that great but I still decided to make it. IT WAS SOOO GOOD. It tasted just like regular dough except I could eat it straight from the bowl. The only thing I would have to say that isn’t “OMG ITS DELICIOUS!” is the fact that is says “serves 12” but in reality it only serves about 4. Other than that it was a fantastic recipes and I would definitely make this again.

  2. I’m glad you enjoyed the recipe Jean, thank you for the comment. When it is something as good as cookie dough, it is hard to spread it over 12 people. 🙂

  3. Can you add a leavening agent in order to bake in the microwave? I’m into baking in the microwave these days.

  4. Hi Kia- I don’t know whether or not this will work as I have not tested it. If you give it a whirl, let me know how it goes!

Served at a baby shower and people LOVED it. They said it was better than the cookie dough place at our shopping mall, and I replied that it’s because this is made the old fashioned way with butter and sugar! My notes: If you’re serving this to people, keep it in the fridge until the last minute. It really is VERY soft…. not where it oozes or anything, but the dough itself doesn’t have a lot of bite when it’s not cold. You don’t want it feeling warm and gummy in your mouth, so let it stay cold if you can. Flavor was deliciously vanilla. I added white chocolate chips and a bunch of pink jimmies for the baby shower. Super cute, homemade, EASY, and most importantly, YUMMY.

  6. No, there is not any leavening agent in the cookies so they won’t bake properly. This recipe is meant to be eaten just as a dough.
