What makes this the Best Rice Krispie Treats Recipe?

Finding the absolute perfect ratio of marshmallows to cereal was quite the quest. I 100% ate way too many Rice Krispie Treats on the way and I am not ashamed about it at all.

Rice Krispie Treats are Dan’s absolute favorite dessert aaaaand I was really really horrible at making them for a long time. (I know, how can someone be horrible at Rice Krispie Treats.. but I was.)

I’ve been testing this recipe all week. I made an entire cookie sheet worth of Rice Krispie Treats on Tuesday, I left for about an hour after the kids went to bed to go to a church meeting and came back to literally half of the Rice Krispie Treats. That right there is when I knew I had found the perfect combination. 😉

Tips for this Easy Rice Krispie Treat Recipe

  • Use new marshmallows. Just trust me on this one.. If they are stale now, your Rice Krispie Treats will be stale later. 😉
  • Melt the butter first, then the marshmallows, exactly as written. This really does make a difference in the outcome!
  • Gently, gently press the Rice Krispie Treats into the pan. If you pack them, no matter what, they will be hard later.
  • Wet your hands in the sink before pressing down the Rice Krispie Treats.
  • Store in an air tight container for up to 2 days, but really, they are the very best about 30 seconds after pressing them into the pan. 😉

Major heart eyes! I can’t wait to try this! I always ruin mine but this looks so easy. I’m also excited to add in the vanilla, I’ve never added it into rice krispies before but it’s my favorite ingredient to bake with so I can’t wait.

Also can you substitute for fruity pebbles cereal or half rice krispies and half fruity pebbles?

Tastes great & I appreciate the tip of wetting the hands prior to pressing down. So easy! I’ve always sprayed my hands or a spatula, but not anymore. I tried adding the melted marshmallows to the cereal, but I think that I’ll revert back to my old way of adding the cereal to the marshmallow simply bc I feel that I waste too much of the marshmallow even when scraping the bowl. Overall, great recipe! Thank you.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback shelly!! The only reason I do it this way is because I don’t have a microwave safe bowl large enough to melt the marshmallows in initially! 😉 Hope you are having a fantastic day!

SO, so good-plus the added bonus of easy clean-up. I have made these several times and this will be the only recipe I will use – they are THAT good. The water on the hands trick really works too.
