I am a chicken club sandwich lady, and this one is my very fave. Quick, fresh, and flavorful, it’s bound to be your new fixation meal.
Chicken Club Recipe
Can I be real with you for a second? I am the pickiest eater turned food blogger that you will ever meet. I don’t love seafood, curry, or pretty much anything that is too spicy. (I’m sorry, I know). But give me any sort of chicken sandwich option and I’m a happy gal. Which is why my love for this chicken club sandwich might be a little stronger than is normal. But guys, it is really good – and I’ve had A LOT of chicken sandwiches to compare it to.
This chicken club is perfectly fresh with tender chicken, crisp produce, yummy baconnn and a fun twist that brings it all together. I promise you’re going to love it just as much as I do, which is really saying something. Pair it with a fresh salad like this Italian Zucchini Salad and you’ve got yourself a meal!
What Ingredients are in Chicken Club Sandwiches?
These chicken club sandwiches are pretty flexible, so please feel free to substitute and add as your heart desires.
- Artisan bread – My local grocery store makes a cheddar and garlic loaf of artisan bread that is just to die for. But if you have a go-to artisan bread that you love, absolutely use that.
- Rotisserie chicken breast – You can definitely use other cooked chicken if you’d rather. I love using rotisserie because it is so quick!
- Tomatoes – Tomatoes are a staple here in my opinion. But I also love adding in additional veggies like cucumbers, pickles, onions, peppers, etc. depending on my mood.
- Small head lettuce
- Bacon
- Cheese
- Mayonnaise
- Everything but the bagel seasoning
How to Make Chicken Clubs
- Toast your slices of bread first, if preferred.
- To assemble your sandwich, first, spread mayonnaise on one side of a slice of bread.
- Sprinkle the mayo with everything but the bagel seasoning.
- Add lettuce and then tomato onto the slice of bread.
- Arrange the sliced chicken breast and then 2 slices of pre-cooked bacon onto the sandwich.
- Top with a slice of cheese.
- Spread mayonnaise onto a second slice of bread and place on top of the cheese and repeat the previous step to make a double decker chicken club sandwich.
- Enjoy!
What side dishes go well with chicken club sandwiches?
I love making a green salad and cutting up some fruit (pineapple and watermelon are my go-to’s) to go with these sandwiches. You also can’t go wrong with chips, mac n cheese, potato salad or pasta salad. Pretty much anything summer-y is a winning combo with this sandwich in my book.
What other toppings can you add?
You can really add anything you’d like to these sandwiches. Here are a few things I’ve tried and loved:
- Banana peppers
- Bell peppers
- Cucumbers
- Onions
- Pickles
- Spinach
- Mustard
- Olives
