What Ingredients are in Pizza Sauce?

  • Can of San Marzano tomatoes – Trust me, use the san Marzano tomatoes. This makes all the difference!!
  • Tomato paste
  • Dried basil  – You can season this with whatever you like best, this is just my favorite seasoning combo.
  • Dried oregano
  • Garlic powder

How to Make Homemade Pizza Sauce

  1. Pour the can of tomatoes into a large bowl.
  2. Using kitchen sheers, cut and chop the tomatoes until you have your desired texture/chunkiness of your pizza sauce. Do not try to blend the tomatoes in the blender!!!
  3. Stir in the can of tomato paste to thicken the sauce.
  4. Add the dry seasonings. Stir until evenly distributed.
  5. Use on your favorite homemade pizza! Enjoy
  6. This freezes great – just portion it out into the small portions you will use and then freeze it for later. I like to use something like this

Can I mix this in my blender?

Nope!! Do not try and blend your tomatoes. This will crush the seeds and give the sauce a super bitter taste. Stick to the kitchen sheers for a naturally sweet tomato sauce.

How do I store this?

If you aren’t ready to use your homemade pizza sauce, you can refrigerate for 1-2 days in an airtight container. This also freeze really well!  Just portion it out into the small portions you will use and then freeze it for later. I like to use something like this!
