What Ingredients are in Pizza Sauce?
- Can of San Marzano tomatoes – Trust me, use the san Marzano tomatoes. This makes all the difference!!
- Tomato paste
- Dried basil – You can season this with whatever you like best, this is just my favorite seasoning combo.
- Dried oregano
- Garlic powder
How to Make Homemade Pizza Sauce
- Pour the can of tomatoes into a large bowl.
- Using kitchen sheers, cut and chop the tomatoes until you have your desired texture/chunkiness of your pizza sauce. Do not try to blend the tomatoes in the blender!!!
- Stir in the can of tomato paste to thicken the sauce.
- Add the dry seasonings. Stir until evenly distributed.
- Use on your favorite homemade pizza! Enjoy!
- This freezes great – just portion it out into the small portions you will use and then freeze it for later. I like to use something like this!
Can I mix this in my blender?
Nope!! Do not try and blend your tomatoes. This will crush the seeds and give the sauce a super bitter taste. Stick to the kitchen sheers for a naturally sweet tomato sauce.
How do I store this?
If you aren’t ready to use your homemade pizza sauce, you can refrigerate for 1-2 days in an airtight container. This also freeze really well! Just portion it out into the small portions you will use and then freeze it for later. I like to use something like this!
