Buttery-crisp brown sugar oats sit atop a bed of cinnamon-sugared & tender apples in this easy Apple Crisp! Serve it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (HUBBA HUBBA).

You’re Gonna Love This Apple Crisp (EASY!!)
It is finally FALL and y’all know what that means – it is Apple Crisp time!! And truly, when it comes to apple desserts, it does not get better than this. Here are the highlights:
- This crisp is a minimal effort, high reward kinda thing. You can get this bad boy in the oven in approximately 15 minutes!
- The yummiest apple crisp topping known to man. Oats pair up with butter, brown sugar, vanilla & cinnamon, yielding a topping that is phenomenal in both the texture AND flavor departments.
- The apples are seasoned exquisitely – with just enough sugar and spice to enhance but not overwhelm the natural flavor of the apples.
If for whatever reason you’d like to go oat-free, I have an apple crisp without oats recipe you need to check out. I also have an apple crisp bagel that is a must-make this season!

Apple Crisp Ingredients
- Apples, peeled and cut – You can use any type of apple you’d like here!
- Granulated sugar
- Ground cinnamon – This will help flavor the oats and the apples.
- Old fashioned oats – These are the same as rolled oats, just a different name. Whatever you do, don’t try to use Steel cut oats here (they won’t work!)
- All-purpose flour
- Brown sugar
- Butter, melted – I used salted butter because that is what I keep in my kitchen. So if you use unsalted butter, you may want to add a pinch of salt!
- Vanilla

How to Make Easy Apple Crisp
- Start by preheating the oven to 350°F.
- Peel and cut your apples into slices. Toss the apples with the granulated sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon.
- Transfer to a greased 8×8 pan or a deep pie dish. Set aside.
- In a bowl, combine the remaining 1 tsp of cinnamon, oats, flour and brown sugar.
- Once combined, pour the melted butter and vanilla into the bowl. Stir until you have a mixture similar to wet sand.
- Pour and distribute the oat topping mixture on top of the sliced apples.
- Bake at 350°F for 40-50 minutes or until the apples are tender and the top of the crisp is golden brown.
- Serve warm alongside vanilla ice cream (or plain). Enjoy!

How should I store leftover Apple Crisp?
Allow your crisp to cool and place in an airtight container. Put in the fridge and eat within 5 days. When you’re ready to eat, warm in the microwave!
What types of apples should I use?
I like to use Honeycrisp, but a Granny Smith or Golden Delicious is also great. But really, any apple can do.

I made the apple crisp for my wife’s birthday because it’s her favorite. It was such a success I made an apple pie but used the crisp topping to make a Dutch apple pie. Best decision I’ve made since I married my wife!
