How to Make a BLT that everyone is sure to love!

There are few things more satisfying than an unspeakably delicious meal that is filling and can be assembled in a matter of minutes. This BLT sandwich fulfills all those requirements by quickly pairing salty, savory bacon with a fresh tomato, crisp lettuce, warm toasty bread and a tangy secret sauce to tie it all together.

And even if you’ve had this classic sandwich before, you’re missing out if you’ve never tried it with my sauce. A mix of mayo, vinegar, sugar, and salt – this tangy mixture takes an otherwise regular sandwich to the next level.

BLT Recipe ingredients

  • Bread- Use your favorite bread. I like sourdough but a ciabatta roll, sliced white or wheat bread, a pita or even wrapped in a tortilla is great!
  • Lettuce- My personal favorite is leafy green lettuce! But Iceberg, romaine, shredded lettuce or even spinach will work.
  • Bacon- I usually use the microwave bacon from Costco to make this super quick, but you can use whatever cut of bacon you’d like.
  • Sliced Tomatoes- Use your favorite type of tomato here! Sometimes I even use cherry tomatoes.
  • A Secret Sauce- This is made of Mayo, Vinegar, Sugar, and Salt. Yes, 4 ingredients and it absolutely makes this sandwich.

What is the best bread for BLT?

You can use whatever type of bread you’d like – from regular white to sourdough, ciabatta, wheat or even a tortilla!

What else can I put on a BLT Sandwich?

I personally love adding a little fresh avocado and some sprouts to this sandwich – just trust me. It’s divine! You can also add any type of cheese you’d like.

Sauces for this BLT Sandwich Recipe

I love using my ‘secret sauce’ (shared in this post), but plain mayo, ranch, cilantro lime ranch or a sriracha mayo are perfect on this BLT.

The integrity of your bread will really make the difference here! Beyond that, cutting the sandwich in half can also help keep your BLT intact while you eat it.
