Fruit Salad Recipe

This is my very favorite side dish EVER! If I am hosting an event or get asked to bring a side dish to a party, you can bet I will be making this fruit salad. Here’s why:

  • It is easy, colorful & gorgeous, and so delicious it is nearly impossible to stop eating
  • The dressing for fruit salad is light, tangy, and sweet. It accentuates the natural flavor and sweetness of every fruit you toss in SO WELL.
  • It is so. dang. versatile. Most fruits taste amazing together and, pro tip, you can even *theme* your salads by curating color combos that fit the occasion.  For example, green grapes, strawberries, kiwis, and raspberries are a perfect combo for a Christmas party. And orange slices, kiwis, and dark purple grapes look spooky at a Halloween party. It may sound silly, but if it’s what brings you joy – mix and match to your heart (or theme’s) content!
  • You can make this ahead of time (and it even travels well). Just wash and cut all of your fruit and store in an airtight bowl. Then, mix the dressing and store separately. Right before you’re ready to serve, mix the dressing into the fruit salad and enjoy immediately!

Recipe for Fruit Salad

This is just a list of suggested fruits that I like to use in my fruit salad. But if I’ve excluded your favorite fruit, don’t worry – I’m sure you can add it in and it will taste AMAZING!

  • Strawberries, hulled and cut
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Red grapes
  • Kiwis, peeled and cut
  • Fresh pineapple
  • Mandarin oranges (juices drained)
  • Blackberries
  • Pineapple juice – You can substitute this for any juice you’d like! Orange juice also works really well.
