No Bake + Peanut Butter + Salty + Bars = #WINNING

Literally everything about these peanut butter bars are basically heaven sent.

No Bake. Need I say more? Perfect summer treat because, who wants to turn on their oven to insanely high temperatures while it is over 100° outside?

Not this lady. Especially when one does not have air conditioning. Half of the apartment’s we’ve lived in haven’t had air conditioning. I am pretty good with just dressing light and making do, but when I was 9 months pregnant in a hot and humid Connecticut July last year, that was a little bit of a different story. #myhusbandisasaint

These no bake peanut butter bars are full of potato chips, pretzels and peanut butter.

Peanut Butter. I love peanut butter. I love to dip in it, bake with it, eat giant spoonfuls of it… It is just too good!! I have a plethora of Peanut Butter recipes on my site like Peanut Butter Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, Chocolate Peanut Butter Chex Bars, and The Everything Cookie.

Funny how all of those recipes include peanut butter and chocolate.. I think it might be the best combination on earth. Ya know, except for like French fries and fry sauce. ?

Salty. This is what takes this level to an unexpected yet delicious notch. I know, potato chips in dessert? Just trust me with this one. Mmmmkay?

Bars. Essentially meaning less work, less time because there is no scooping or rolling required. Just cut and serve. Plus, you can cut as big or as little as you want. I usually cut a giant bar for myself and then set out one’s that are about 1/4 the size of the bar I just scarfed down… please keep my secret. ?

Peanut butter bars with a salty twist. Crushed m&m's throughout the bar.

How to Make the Perfect No Bake Peanut Butter Salty Bar

First thing to do is prep the chips and pretzels. I poured them both into a large zip top baggie and let out all of my pent up anger. ? Really though, my kids had a blast smashing everything with their fists.

After everything was smashed pretty well (you are just wanting a variety of sizes, nothing larger than about 1 inch.) pour the chips and pretzels into a very large bowl.

Next measure out the marshmallows and toss them together with the chips and pretzels. Measure out the M&M’s but set them off to the side for now.

In a medium sauce pan, combine sugar and corn syrup over medium-high heat until it just begins to boil. As soon as the middle starts to bubble, turn off the burner and remove from heat.

Once removed from heat, stir in vanilla and peanut butter.

After the peanut butter has been completely mixed in, pour over the chips, pretzels and marshmallows. Stir to evenly coat. Once everything has been coated, toss in the M&M’s. Quickly stir to distribute.

Press into a well greased 9X13 pan. Let cool completely, slice and serve. Make sure to lick the spoon, pan, bowl and everything else in sight while you wait.
No bake cookie bars are perfect for picnics, potlucks or holiday parties.
