How to make Halloween M&M Cookies
Preheat your oven to 350° while you make the cookie dough, this will help cut down on the time that you have to wait before getting to eat them! #ProTip
In a large bowl, cream together your butter and sugars. Then add in the egg and vanilla. Continue beating until the mix is lighter in color and looks creamy. You can do this with a hand mixer or a stand mixer. I’ve done it both ways!
Next, add all of the other dry ingredients to the dough, mixing until its almost completely combined. Add in the milk to help moisten the dough and then finish mixing until the dough is soft.
Fold in the M&M’s and then scoop out your cookie dough into equal-sized balls and arrange on a cookie sheet.
I use a #50 cookie scoop to help ensure that my dough balls are all uniform and the same size. After scooping, roll the dough into a nice ball, this will help the finished cookie have a smooth finish.
I always take 2 or 3 M&M’s and place them on top of the cookie before baking, this is totally optional and just for decorative purposes. Psst. look at that little helper hand! I’m going to miss when those little hands get big!
Bake your cookies at 350° for about 8 minutes and let them cool completely on the pan before removing (or eating!)
What are Halloween M&M Cookies?
Halloween M&M cookies are delicious chocolate cookies with colorful M&M’s in them. Not only do they help bring a little festive fun to the spooky holiday, but they also taste great!
How do you keep your cookies from getting crunchy?
One of the saddest parts about making cookies is when they go from soft and chewy to hard and crunchy. Definitely do not over bake the cookies! That will result in dry, crumbly cookies. It is difficult to tell with chocolate cookies, so my rule of thumb is this: as soon as the tops are not glossy, take them out of the oven!
How to Store your Halloween M&M Cookies
Store the cookies in an airtight container for up to 3 days. You can even put a slice of bread in with the cookies, then they will be extra soft!
