The History of Jake’s Sauce
When I was growing up, there was a little fast food restaurant named Jake’s Over the Top. It was named that because their shakes (which were absolutely drool inducing delicious) were literally over the top of the cup! By a few inches too!!
Boy, did they have the best chicken strips and fries!! All of my siblings played soccer (I didn’t, I did gymnastics) and their soccer games and practices just so happened to be across the street from Jake’s.
I would run over and buy myself some chicken strips and fries a couple of times per month. You know what the absolute best part of the chicken strips and fries were? The sauce.
The sauce was BBQ sauce and mayo. Served exactly as pictured above. A lot of BBQ sauce with a little dollop of mayo in the center.
I loved taking a piping hot french fry and swirling the mayo into the BBQ sauce. The mayo really gives the BBQ sauce a creamy note that is just to die for.
This is my absolute favorite dipping sauce. I don’t eat chicken nuggets, French fries, or anything of the sort without this sauce. You have GOT to try it out!!
