Meatball Sub Burgers are the perfect weeknight meal! All of the flavor of a Meatball Sub made into a patty instead! Less mess, ALL the flavor!
I am so excited to be working with Bays® English Muffins on this post! I received product and or monetary compensation in exchange for this post, however all opinions here are my own.. I really do love and use this product!
Meatball Sub Burgers
Boy do I have a special treat for you today!! I have been working on this recipe for the past month or so and I am FINALLY ready to share it with you!
Everything you love about a good old fashioned Meatball Sub.. BURGER STYLE! The homemade blend of ground beef, spices and cheese make the most delicious and moist patty. Add some marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese and nestle that into warm, toasted Bay’s English Muffins and you’ve got yourself one extremely satisfying meal!
Bays English Muffins
I know, when I hear English Muffins I automatically go into breakfast mode, specifically Breakfast Sandwiches but let me tell you, these English Muffins deserve so much more than just breakfast! In the past, we have made mini pizzas, shredded bbq chicken sandwiches, garlic bread, peanut butter toast and more on our Bay’s English Muffins.
I love how fluffy and hearty they are. They compliment the Meatball Sub Patty perfectly, the English Muffin soaks up all of that delicious marinara sauce while keeping your hands clean.
Bays English Muffins are pre-sliced to perfection and can be found in the dairy case at most grocery stores. Find out if your local grocery store carries them here!
Ingredients for Meatball Sub Burgers
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup plain bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp + 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 2 eggs
- Mozzarella cheese slices
How to make Meatball Sub Burgers
Use an electric hand mixer to combine all of the ingredients besides the 1/2 cup marinara sauce and the mozzarella cheese slices. Form into patties, remember these will be going onto English muffins, so they are more slider sized patties. I use about 3 tbsp of meat for the patties.
Quickly brown both sides of all of the patties, we aren’t looking to cook these all the way through right now, just a nice sear on both sides.
Place a slice of mozzarella cheese onto each browned patty and then spoon some marinara sauce on top of the cheese. Now, either bake your patties or pressure cook them in the Instant Pot.
To bake the patties, cook them in the oven at 350° for about 15 minutes, or until internal temperature reads 160°.
I like to pressure cook the patties to finish cooking them because they turn out so moist and that steamed cheese is just what melty goodness dreams are made out of!
If using your pressure cooker, place all of the cheese and sauce topped patties into a steamer basket (it is fine to stack them! Trust me!) and cook on HIGH pressure for 10 minutes. Quick release the Instant Pot when the cook time is over.
Toast your English Muffins, make your burger and dig in!

My 12 year old has been watching TONS of cooking shows lately and wanted to make dinner for the family. Music to my ears!! She landed on this recipe and did it all by herself start to finish!! It was so yummy and I was so relived that it didn’t end with her brothers pretending to make throw up noises and refusing to finish it( we are still working on being decent teenagers, haha). Everyone went back for seconds. one proud mamma right here! Delicious
