Everyone needs a few SUPER fast meals up their sleeve for those days. I know you know what kind of day I’m talking about.
Maybe you have been a payment-less taxi from the moment you woke up until 7:00 pm at night.. or you’ve been working all day and your to the point where you can’t decide whether you’re more hungry or tired.
OR you just spent all of your energy grocery shopping, you don’t actually want to make anything? (It’s okay, it happens to the best of us!)
I’ve got news for you! This meal can be on the table in five minutes flat. F-I-V-E! How? The key is to either pick up a rotisserie chicken from the store, OR have a freezer full of cooked and shredded chicken like me!
I always (like always, always!) have baggies of cooked, shredded chicken in my freezer. I talk more about that in this post. You can find the method I use to cook my chicken breasts here too!
How to make Chicken Parm Sandwiches in a jiffy!
Typically when I make this meal, I need it on the table in 5 minutes max so I generally use pre-cooked shredded chicken. You could definitely make shredded chicken right before completing this recipe too. Either way would work!
When I make the sandwiches from freezer to plate in 5 minutes, I have a few tricks up my sleeve to make that possible.
First, I immediately run the baggie of frozen chicken under hot water. Keep the chicken inside of the baggie, and just let the hot water run on it for 30 second to a minute. That should thaw your chicken for you!
Next, I mix the chicken with some red pasta sauce and dry ranch seasoning. I then warm the mixture up in a skillet on my stovetop, stirring constantly. Once heated through, I toss in some shredded mozzarella cheese and stir until melted.
I serve the chicken onto buns, ideally toasted with butter and garlic. Let’s be honest though, sometimes it is slapped onto some toast. It always still disappears the same.

- 2 cups chicken cooked, shredded
- 1 cup red pasta sauce I like Hunt’s 4 cheese
- 1 tbsp dry ranch dressing mix
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
- 6 hamburger buns toasted
Instructions
- Mix the shredded chicken, pasta sauce and dry ranch dressing mix together.
- Heat through on the stovetop stirring constantly.
- Once heated through, stir in the cheese until it is melted.
- Serve on butter and garlic toasted buns.
