Brownies are delicious. Oreos are delicious. But put them together in an oreo brownie?? That is out-of-this-world incredible.

Oreo Brownie Recipe

Get ready to sink your teeth into the best thing you’ve ever tasted. Oreo brownies are thick, fudgy and chewy with a slight oreo crunch in the middle. Perfectly chocolatey and extra decadent, you’re going to wonder why you’ve never thought of putting oreos in your brownies before!

I recently made these for a small dinner with friends and I did not bring a single crumb home. Within an hour of getting home, every single person who was there had texted me to ask for this easy brownie recipe with oreos. I think those results speak for themselves, but if you’re looking for a dessert that is irresistible and looks impressive – you’ve found it!

Ingredients in Oreo Brownies

  • Salted butter, melted
  • Granulated sugar – We start with melted butter and granulated sugar to get that thin, flakey, shiny top on the brownies.
  • Chocolate chips – Use your favorite brand of chocolate chips, the higher the quality, the better! I like to use a mix of milk and bittersweet chocolate chips.
  • Corn syrup – This gives the brownies such a good chew!
  • Vanilla extract – There’s a lot of vanilla in these, but it helps bring out the chocolatey flavor.
  • All-purpose flour – Just regular all purpose flour and a little salt. Notice there is no baking soda or baking powder here, that is because we want our brownies fudgey!!
  • Cocoa powder – I use dutch processed cocoa powder but you can use what you have on hand.
  • Salt
  • Eggs
  • Oreo cookies

How to Make Brownies with Oreos

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F and line a 9×9 pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. In a microwave safe bowl, add the butter and melt completely.
  3. Stir the granulated sugar into the butter and microwave for 1 minute.
  4. Transfer the mixture to the bowl of a stand mixer or to your bowl you like to use with your electric hand mixer.
  5. With the whisk attachment, slowly whisk the mixture while adding the chocolate chips into the butter and sugar mixture. Allow the mixer to continue mixing until all of the chocolate has melted into the mixture.
  6. Continue mixing and add the corn syrup and vanilla. Mixing until well combined.
  7. Slow your mixer down to the lowest setting and slowly add in the flour, cocoa powder and salt. Mixing until nearly combined and then add in the eggs.
  8. Pour half of the batter into the prepared 9×9 baking pan and then spread the thick batter into the pan.
  9. Top the batter in the pan with 16 Oreos.
  10. Add the remaining batter on top of the Oreos and spread to cover.
  11. Chop the remaining Oreos and add to the top of the brownies.
  12. Bake at 350° F for 25-30 minutes or until the brownies rise, the edges start to crack and a toothpick comes out mostly clean when pressed into the center.
  13. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan completely before cutting – the brownies will deflate slightly once they come out of the oven, that is normal.
  14. Cut and enjoy!

Can I make Oreo brownies in advance, and how should I store them?

Yes, you can. Once cooled, store in an airtight container on the counter for up to 3 days! You can also freeze these in a labeled freezer bag for up to 3 months. Enjoy!

Are there any variations I can use to enhance the Oreo brownies?

Yes! First, I recommend making this brownie frosting for the top – it would be decadent and amazing! You can also add in additional chocolate chips to the batter or play around with adding peanut butter chips or other flavors of oreos instead. If you want to help tone down the richness a little bit, you can add flakey sea salt on top – it’s divine.

  1. 5 stars
I would like to make these Oreo Brownies soon and wonder whether you used the regular Oreos or the Double Stuf Ones? Thank you.

  2. Looking to make these – can I make in a half sheet pan, doubling the recipe since pan is larger?

  3. These are pretty thick in the 9×13 pan, so if your half sheet pan has tall sides- yes, double the recipe but if it is like a cookie sheet, I wouldn’t double the recipe and just have thinner brownies.
