Ingredients

  • 3 lb roast top round, chuck or rump will work great
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp beef bullion
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsp dried minced onion
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 Lipton onion soup mix packets
  • 1 Au Jus packet
  • Ciabatta rolls
  • Swiss cheese

Instructions

  • Cut your roast into smaller sections against the grain of the meat. I usually cut mine into 3 inch sections. This will help the roast cook faster and help get things into smaller shredded portions easier.
    3 lb roast
  • Place the cut up roast into your slow cooker on high heat.
  • Add the remaining ingredients (besides the rolls and cheese) into the crockpot. No need to stir.
4 cups beef broth, 2 tbsp beef bullion, 1 tbsp cornstarch, 2 tsp dried minced onion, 1 tsp dried parsley, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 2 Lipton onion soup mix packets , 1 Au Jus packet
  • Cover with the lid and cook on high for 6-8 hours or until fork tender.
  • Remove the meat from the crockpot and shred with a fork.
  • Butter your halved ciabatta rolls and broil until golden brown.

    Swiss cheese
  • Ladle the juice from the crock pot into a small bowl and dip your sandwich into the juice before each bite.
  • Enjoy!
