*I used the caramel dip that is sold by the apples in the grocery store. It is super thick, which is what we want. Do not use ice cream caramel topping here, it is way to thin. If you can't find the apple caramel dip, I would suggest using Werther's soft caramels, and melting those down with a splash of heavy cream until they are thin enough to spoon onto the clusters.
