Chocolate Waffles
One of my favorite ways to celebrate anything is with chocolate waffles. They’re easy to make but fancy enough to make any day feel special.

Course: Breakfast
Cuisine: American
Keyword: chocolate waffles
Servings: 6 waffles (can double if needed)
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup milk + extra for thinning, if needed
- 1/2 tbsp vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
In a small bowl, combine the liquid ingredients (milk, vanilla and eggs) while keeping the melted butter separate for now.
In a separate, larger bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt and baking powder.
Add the liquid ingredients (including the melted butter) into the dry ingredients while whisking. Mix until combined.
Add in more milk, as needed, until a thick batter comes together.
Cook on your favorite waffle iron, enjoy warm with chocolate sauce, strawberries or other toppings.
