The Best Chocolate Banana Bread
The best Chocolate Banana Bread is just absolutely perfect! This is such an easy recipe that yields a moist quick bread with the perfect balance of flavors. There is just enough Banana and just enough chocolate. Add in the chocolate chips and you have a seriously delicious loaf of Double Chocolate Banana Bread!

- 2 bananas overripe
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips I like milk!, divided
Preheat the oven to 375°.
Using either a handheld electric mixer or a stand mixer, mash the bananas in a large bowl until completely smooth.
Add in the melted butter, sugar and egg. Mix until thoroughly combined.
Slowly mix in the flour, baking powder, cocoa and salt. The batter will be extremely thick at this stage.
Slowly mix in the milk until the batter is smooth and velvety.
Fold in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips.
Pour into a greased 9x5 loaf pan.
Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips on top.
Bake at 375° for 45 minutes.
Cool slightly before slicing.
- If your pans are smaller, you'll be able to make 2 loaves with this recipe! Smaller loaves mean less cook time, I would try for 20 minutes and then check on them ever 5 minutes or so until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
