Ingredients

  • 1 cup salted butter, partially melted
  • 1 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tbsp corn syrup
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup dutch-processed cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° F.
  • Cream together the softened butter and sugar for a full 5 minutes.
  • Add the eggs corn syrup and vanilla into the mixture, and beat for another 5 minutes.
  • Add the flour, cocoa, cornstarch and salt this time mixing until just combined. Do not over mix at this point.
  • Spread into a parchment lined 9x9 pan.
  • Bake at 350° F for 20-25 min. The internal temp of the brownies should reach 170° and then they are finished cooking. They are meant to be FUDGY, over-baking them will make them dry and cake like.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting if you’d like crisp edges, or allow the brownies to cool for 30 minutes if you just want warm brownies and don’t care what they look like. :)
